Once you have placed with a Kiwi family, it’s time to apply for your working holiday visa, pay for insurance and book your flights. It’s important to check with your Placement Consultant when the next Orientation is so you arrive in plenty of time.
You can apply for your visa here. You will need to complete this visa process, but let us know if you need help with anything.
We also help you with which travel insurance to choose. With over 1000 of our Au Pairs needing insurance, we know which insurance is best for you.
Check out the FAQs for more information.
Dream Au Pairs are paid wages which are proportional to the hours they work each week and the experience they have.
At the end of your successful placement you will receive a bonus that equates to $10 for every week that you have worked. For a 12-month placement, you will receive $520 (gross). Perfect to add to your travelling spending money.
Dream Au Pair provides group Orientations for all Au Pairs.
Orientation will help prepare you for your placement with a New Zealand Host Family, helping you to understand what to expect living with a Kiwi family and giving practical tips and ideas on caring for children.
We will provide you with a local SIM card, as well as training in Child First Aid, driving theory and the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum (for Au Pairs on the Dream Education Programme).
During Orientation, Au Pairs stay at a 4-star hotel and conference centre in Auckland with other Au Pairs.
You’ll have a chance to make new friends and establish a social group, so important to settling in New Zealand. After Orientation, your Host Families will collect you from the Hotel ready to start your placement from day one with your Host Family.
